Payment
Payment at Shekinah Medical Centre is fairly straightforward. We accept cash, cheques and all major credit cards.
It goes without saying that you should expect to pay for medical attention. Fees will vary depending on the kind of service your doctor provides. Some office visits may just be for a chat. Others will involve physical examination. Yet others may require bedside or minor procedures. So fees vary. If you have any doubt about what you will pay, just ask before you see the doctor.
If you're having major surgery, it is important to know how, what and where you pay. For major surgery, there are usually three payments:
The surgical fee is paid at Shekinah Medical Centre, before the date of surgery.
The fee for the hospital is paid on or before the date of surgery at the hospital.
The fee for anaesthesia is paid to the anaesthetist. This may be at his/her office or at the hospital.
It is important to know that usually the hospital will take a down-payment. Depending on what happens after or during the operation, you may be refunded any excess, or may be billed for extra. Be sure to ask the hospital clerk for exact details so as to avoid future distress.
Many people today have health insurance. In such cases, the insurers will pay most of the costs for surgery.
